August 21, 2009I know who I am and I know what I want."To me New York, was Jackson Pollock sipping vodka and dripping paint onto a raw canvas."
It's Friday night and I'm sick on the couch curled up with hot mint tea watching Factory Girl. While I don't particullary like being sick it does force me to relax and take some time to chill out. I'm such a baby when I get sick I want someone to come take care of me. I've been up to so much lately finally getting some full time hours at work which is helping me with the situation of moving out. Hopefully I'll be in my own home sweet home by the end of October. I've done a few shoots with Lauren and she's gotten some great shots I'm very impressed. Hopefully lining up some more photoshoots in the weeks to come.
I cannot wait for it to be the Fall, and especially for fall fashion. I love wearing all kinds of layers and cute light jackets. My thing this fall is going to be leather jackets. I want one in just about every color and the more eccentric the better. Another thing I need to invest in are some new boots. I've had mine for a few years now and need some change. What's the one fall fashion you cannot wait to be able to wear once it cools down? xoxoxoo AutumnRoze

August 9, 2009Shut up and put your money where your mouth is."People always look at me as a Sixties Girl, but I never think of myself that way. I've always felt that some part of me came from the Twenties and the Thirties, the era I seem most comfortable with."
I find it comforting how even someone you look up too has their own set of insecurities. Who would've thought so many people look up to the different eras than their own even though they were monumental in their own era. Insecurities just show that we're all human and the more you realize you're not perfect the more human you become. It's important to try not to hold grudges or condemn people if they don't fit your standards. All people are human and make mistakes, life is about making mistakes and learning from them. So realize that everyone makes them and don't hold yourself above anyone else. I've learned to surround myself with people who inspire me to be a better person, yet have open arms to those I've yet to meet.
The last week has been most relaxing I've had in awhile. My boyfriend came into town for a week and we had the perfect combination of some down hang out time and doing some fun exciting things. We both went to a winery for the first time and it was very quiant, can't say I loved all the wine but I'm not much of a wine drinker anyway. The most exciting thing we did was going to a practice of the Washington Redskins training camp. I'm not sure how many of you are around the D.C. area but the redskins are one of the most popular teams in the NFL. It was really cool to get to see them up close and personal, it was definitely better than a game.
JC17 BELIEVE What's the best movie you've seen all summer? I've been to busy to go to any of them!! xooxoo autumnroze

May 26, 2009You Never Were and You Never Will be MineSo my college career has finally come to an end. I can't believe it has been four years since I graduated high school and started college. It was definitely a bitter sweet experience. My whole family came from all over to be there with me, which meant so much. Also Tessa Joy came from California which was unbelieveable. I took off all last week in order to spend time with my family and hang out with friends. Tessa got in on Wednesday so I picked her up from the airport and we went to dinner and did some shopping in Georgetown. Then friday we had a house party for Tessa's homecoming in a house that I swear could've been on cribs. Let's just say the pool was an almost replica of the Playboy mansion pool just minus the groto.
Saturday was my graduation and graduation party. Despite the rain it was a blast. I couldn't believe how many people showed up to the party. There was so much food, I mean my mom is Italian so any party we have is filled with breads, pastas, and cheese!!! Also I found a new drink that I'm in love with called Prickly Pear Champagne so good.
Unfortunetly Tessa's trip had to come to an end and we did a sushi dinner for her last night in town. She had to be at the aiport at 4:30 so we decided to simply stay up all night. We did half price sushi at a sushi bar downtown called sticky rice. Then went into Adam's Morgan but being that it was a Monday night there were few places to hang out, so we ended up at our friends house till we needed to leave.
I love three day weekends they're the best. Yesterday I had a cookout with a few friends and relaxed poolside despite the cloudy weather. Anyone have an fun Memorial Day plans??

May 3, 2009Hey there sugar baby saw you twice at the pop show
So finally have a few minutes to sit down and update!! That past few weeks have been quite a rollercoaster. Finals week is coming up so I've been preparing for that. Last weekend my cousin got married so I made a trip up to Richmond with my sisters and niece. Yesterday was the Virginia Gold Cup horse races. It was a blast, and my best friend (who I haven't seen in two years) came with. The only sad part was every horse I bet on came in last or second to last. Aubrey however won 30 bucks!
Monday I have my ballet and modern dance finals, and tuesday I have my jazz performance. We are doing a dance to Rihanna's Disturbia...and we have to dress up as kind of a modern day thriller. I cannot wait it is going to be so much fun with crazy eye makeup, teased hair, and ripped up clothes. I'm going to take tons of pics with the dance class and hopefully be able to video tape it! I'm not sure what kind of clothes I should wear. Any ideas??? Only 10 days till my best friend comes back to VA =) Can't wait!! What's your favorite spring activity? Mine would definitely have to be the horse races. xooxooxo autumnroze

March 31, 2009I'm worth it like Wal-MartSo tomorrow is April 1st and that makes me more happy than you'll ever know, because it means warm weather...hopefully! The boyfriend got snow last night, so who knows what the weather will be like here. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the warm weather is officially here. Spring means cute skirts, dresses, and sandals!! Speaking of that I need to do some major spring shopping. I have a possible photo shoot coming up with jR6, which will hopefully have a spring feel to it. Things have been fairly busy lately, but a good busy. Sometimes it's nice to be busy it seems to help me manage my time better. Dani and I went to The Ting Tings concert together about two weeks ago. They were amazing I felt as if I was listening to the Cd watching them perform. The opening band was this group of girls from Oakland Cali called HotTub. Anyone heard of them? They're quite rough around the edges. Their beats were pretty sick and lyrics were funny, but only one of them really had some serious MC skills. Not to mention they lacked just a little bit of class...you should check them out on myspace and let me know what you think This is them minus one other chick. The white girl is the one who could rap...imagine that
She was adorable...
Dani turned 21 last Wednesday so Chris and I took her out and showed her a good time as best we could on a Wednesday night. We didn't end up getting out of the house till about 10:30 so we got to Coastal and they closed at about midnight so needless to say we didn't get hang out too much at the bar, but don't worry we found some mischief to get into....
It was too much fun and now finally when we go out we don't have to worry about whether Dani can get in or not!! Senioritis is in full swing considering I only have about a month and a half left until graduation. May 16th cannot come soon enough! But I guess I should probably just enjoy the rest of my time in school, considering it's the real world and real life after May 16th.
Anyone remember how bad senioritis was during your senior of highschool??? xxooxxo AutumnRoze

March 2, 2009I was born with an enormous need for affection, and a terrible need to give it“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone" Audrey Hepburn. So I can't believe it is already March!! This year is already going by so fast I can't get over it. Next week is my spring break, and it can't come at a better time I need a serious break. School and work are kicking my butt. Although being in all these dance classes has really been helping my energy level, and not to mention getting me in shape for bikini season....oh geeze. I always thought that ballet wasn't for me, but dancing ballet again reminded me how essential it is to being a good dancer.
So today we had our first big snow of the whole winter, it was about time. I didn't have to go to school this morning or work so that gave me some extra time on my hands. I worked on my budget, did some cleaning, and got to do lunch with my dad which was really really nice. A few weeks ago I went to a masquerade party in the city with a few friends, it was actually really cool, people actually dressed up! I actually made my own mask because I just couldn't find one to match my outfit...how girly of me....
So Aaliya, my niece, is getting so big! The girl is up to 12 pounds already. She made her first real smile a few days ago, and it was just about the cutest thing I've ever seen. My sister and I went shopping for her the other day and I had almost as much if not more than when I shop for myself. The leopard boots are my favorite
Let's hope this week goes by fast so spring break can start!!!
Anybody have any fun plans for their spring break, whenever it may be? xxoo

January 22, 2009welcome to the familySo I've been M.I.A. for quite sometime now, so i thought I'd give a little update. I was gone visiting the boy for a few days over New Years, which was ridiculously fun. I got to lay around and be lazy with him and his pup and it was the perfect vacation. By the way his dog is probably the cutest dog I've ever seen. I used to think I wanted a little dog, but I've now come to the conclusion I want a dog that would attack someone if they tried to hurt me, and lets face it a maltese just isn't going to do that.
After I got back from Nebraska I've just been working and relaxing seeing that I've been off of school for the christmas break. I started back yesterday and I'm taking three dance classes and I'm finally going to be working out on a regular basis. So excited about that....but I'd have to say the most exciting thing that has happened lately was the birth of my niece!!! So so exciting I can't even explain......
She's definitely the cutest newborn I've ever seen... I love having time off school because it means I have way more time to hang out and have fun...
Anybody have any good new year's resolutions?? xxoo AutumnRoze

November 11, 2008Darling it's you I'm withoutSo it's Tuesday morning and I'm sitting in my psych class, and obviously not paying attention. Sometimes I really wonder why I go to school. But it's almost over!! I registered for my class for next semester last week, and I got into three dance classes! I'm super excited, I used to be a dance major so it will be really nice to get back in shape and into dancing again I really miss it. This weekend Lori came down for a few days, and it couldn't have come at a better time. I really needed to see her, and just have fun. We did a bunch of girly things, got our nails done, ate alot, and had a shopping spree. We both got some amazing clothes at a very unexpected store. It was a great spotaneous shopping spree, we both needed it. A few weeks ago DaniVarro and I had a photoshoot with Izzy
Overall we had a great time. All three of us really needed the photoshoot to take our minds off of certain things. Hopefully we'll be doing one soon in the city. I'm not sure where I'd be without those two. So my boy bought his plane ticket a few days ago to come to D.C. in December...and it can't come soon enough. Thanksgiving is right around the corner and I can't wait to travel to Massachusettes to visit my family, it's been way to long. I can't wait to kick off the holiday season!!! It truly is the best time of the year. Well I'm off to pay attention in class I suppose =P Have a good day =) What is your favorite holiday? Any fun plans for this holiday season? xoxo AutumnRoze

November 3, 2008I gave it my best
Before we went out Isabel and I were going to go to chipotle, because on Halloween you can dress up as a burrito and get a free burrito! Who knew! I ended up not going because I went home to see my little sister go trick or treating and help my mom pass out some candy to the neighborhood kids. But she seemed to have a lot of fun, and really looked the part...
Overall we had a great night, tons of dancing, great costumes, and good friends. I went as an 80's girl and I'm really contemplating adding my costume to my daily wardrobe because that's how much I loved it. Isabel was an adorable Little Red Riding Hood, and Lubna was a 20's Flapper girl it was too cute, and she put it together herself!
Emphasizing the 80's style with ripper fishnets...
Hope everyone has a great day! And I love to hear about everyone's Halloween. What were you? What were some of the most creative and off the wall costumes you saw? xoxo AutumnRoze

October 15, 2008After he's hooked I'll play the one that's on his heartSo I haven't written a journal in quite sometime, so I thought it was time for an update. My birthday was about two weeks ago, and it was just a great birthday. Again thanks to everyone who sent birthday wishes. It was great. It was a very quaint and chill birthday I had some friends and family over for some yummy homemade lasanga, and my cousin made me the most amazing red velvet birthday cake. I was very impressed, it was amazing. I'm attempting to convince her to start some sort of baking business she could definitely be successful. I got a Sean Taylor redskins jersey for my birthday, and it absolutely made my day!!! For those of you who don't know Sean Taylor is a redskins player who got shot and killed last season, it was extrememly tragic. I've been a die hard skins fan for as long as I can remember. R.I.P.
This is my beautiful birthday cake...that I aparently was making a very serious wish off of... Last year was my 21st birthday, and it landed on a Tuesday so I didn't really end up having a real 21st birthday. So I decided I needed to turn my 22nd into my 21st, so a few of my best friends got together and we all hit the city. It was a blast we saw a great band, had awesome drinks, and off course danced!!
Overall I had a great birthday, and again thanks to all of you who made it even better! I am so excited that fall is finally here. It's my favorite season temperature wise, and more importantly fashion wise. I can't wait to start layering all kinds of clothing! Tonight I believe Dani and I are going to be doing a shoot, so check back for those pictures should be good!! Until then I guess I better get back to school work considering I'm sitting in class =P What year was your best birthday?? xoxoxo AutumnnRoze

August 20, 2008Time Is DwindlingSo the time for my roomate to leave me is slowly approaching, and I'm realizing how much I'm really going to miss her. We've had alot of fun times together, and I cannot believe that we're going to be living on absolute opposite sides of the country from each other. Tessa brings out a crazy, fun, and spontaneous side of me which I lost sight of for a really long time. I was always so focused on school and work I seemed to forget how to have fun. So thank you Tessa for reminding me what it's like to have fun. I will really miss you.
We even found a way to goof off while at the zoo...
That was just a little insight into some of the fun times that we've had together =) But I guess on the positive side I get to go out to California to visit her!! Which will hopefully be in the near near future. Last weekend we threw a big ole going away party for Tessa. She invited everyone she wanted to see before she left, and let's just say it was a blast minus the idiots trying to jump off of my roof into a 5 1/2 foot pool!! Sheesh....but overall it was a reallt fun night, and Tessa got to say goodbye to everyone and have one last fun filled night with them.
As for now I'm going to go clean my car....it's absolutely filthy. Then I'm most likely going to watch some weeds...gotta love that show. Has anyone seen it? If so what do you think? I'm just getting into it my cousin let me borrow her season one and two DVD's so I've got some catching up to do, considering they're on the third season. But for now it's car cleaning time...wish me luck. Could take me hours!!! If you've never seen this show you should check it out. It's on Showtime if you don't have it go rent the DVD's from blockbuster. So worth it. Let me know what you think?!? xoxo

July 27, 2008FlashbackSo the past week or two has been filled with events that take me back a few years. Last weekend Tessa, my cousin, my sister, and I went to the 311 snoop dogg show. During high school I was an avid 311 fan, and since then haven't been keeping up with them nor listening to them. And I'm not sure what that's about because they are amazing. They put on one of the shows I've been too. I've seen them once before, and the second was even better. I was never a big fan of highschool, but they brought some of the good memories I did have. It also helped that I was with the people I was with....
Then this weekend I went up to Maryland to Towson University to visit some friends. I went to Towson University for my freshman year of college, and it was an amazing and extrememly fun experience....and I met some great people, hence why I go back to visit all the time =P. Although there have been some flashbacks my new job makes me realize how much older I am becoming and how much more responsibility comes with it. I've gotten a job working as an ABA therapist for autistic children. It has so much responsibility with it, yet it is extremely rewarding. There are children who come to us with absolutley no speech and leave with a full vocabulary. Just knowing that you're a part of that is very satisfying. This is a picture of one of the kids after we let him dress himself up.....
Then I we let one of the girls dress us up as a reward for doing so well on her work during therapy.
So despite the added responsibility I'm really loving my new job, and adore the feeling of wanting to go to work in the mornings.

July 7, 2008MondayMorningsSo it's monday morning I've been up for over an hour and have done nothing besides make a pot of coffee and eat some cereal. I think I could get used to this not working thing. I mean I am working I just haven't started my new job yet I will sometime later this week. It fun being home on a monday morning as opposed to in the office. You get to watch all the fun talk show that come on weekdays mornings that I would usually miss. Regis and Kelly, Racheal Ray, and The View. Right now Racheal Ray is on. Although she can be quite peppy at times overall she is very fun to watch...not to mention her food always looks unbelievable! Right now she is making a tuna pasta and it's looking like it's going to be good. I love some tuna it's one of the few fish that I'll eat. I would suggest that anyone who likes to cook to purchase a racheal ray cookbook they're Yum-OO (as Racheal would say)
So I'm a little nervous about starting my new job. I will be working with autistic kids and my biggest fear is that I won't be good at it. I know it's going to be challenging, but I also would like to believe I can handle it I guess we will just have to see...wish me luck! It was really really hard leaving my job at the apartment complex I'm not necessarily going to miss the job, but more so the people I couldn't have asked for a better boss or co-workers. They're so great that they threw me a little suprise going away party =)
It was incredibly sweet and definitely put a litte tear in my eye. After we all got off we went over to Chili's to have some drinks and happy hour buffalo wings! And this is what came of it....
Did anyone do anything exciting for the fourth? Let me know I love good 4th of July stories! xoxo

June 20, 2008Oh Buzznet...Ok so I'm new to this whole buzznet thing, so I'm still figuring out how to work it but, eventually, I will get it.....anybody willing to help let me know?! <3 So summer is finally here, and I couldn't be any happier. This summer is going to be filled with fun adventures with friends, especially my beloved roomate, TessaJoy, who will be leaving for Cali at the end of the summer. We are going to try and fit anything we possibly can in before she leaves so if anyone knows of anything fun to do around the D.C. area let us know, and we will gladly add it to our adventures. I just finished my summer college courses, and I am now officially a senior in college and will be graduating with my bachelor's degree in psychology next May! I can't believe that I'm almost done with my college degree I can remember high school graduation like it was yesterday. I actually have a little sister who just graduated from our high school this year and it was so bizarre to see her graduate, being that she's my little sister.
And it sounds lame but it made me realize I'm getting older.....but I don't wanna grow up cuz I'm a Toys'r'Us kid!!! :-P Anybody else feeling younger than their actual age? I'm twenty one and sometimes still feel like I'm twelve, which I guess really isn't a bad thing. Well I hope everyone has a great weekend! AutumnRoze
